Céim ar Aghaidh/Step Ahead uses the fun of Gaelic games to deliver an exciting range of exercises to support the Primary School Curriculum in:

The Céim ar Aghaidh resource can be used to support teaching in a variety of subject areas and the exercises can be adapted to suit children of varying abilities through differentiated worksheets. Céim Ar Aghaidh/Step Ahead provides an extremely comprehensive spread of opportunities for children.

There are three versions of the Ceim ar Aghaidh/Step Ahead resource available- the Senior Cycle/Ardranganna, the Middle Cycle/Meanranganna and the Junior Cycle. The Ceim ar Aghaidh DVD, produced in conjunction with RTE, has been developed to assist teachers of pupils throughout Primary School and is free with the Middle Cycle resource.

Senior Cycle/Árdranganna Resource

The Senior Cycle/Ardranganna resource was produced in 2006. This resource contains material which has been developed for the senior cycle of Primary Schools, Primary 7 in Northern Ireland and fifth and sixth classes in Republic of Ireland. The Teacher notes are colour coded with references to the photocopiable worksheets in the associated Pupils Worksheet.

Both the Teacher and Pupils worksheets are available to download and photocopy from the Senior Cycle page

The resources are available to download as Gaeilge by clicking on the Árdranganna section.

The resources section provides a comprehensive list of resources, which can be used in conjunction with this pack.

Middle Cycle/Meanranganna

The Middle Cycle/Meanranganna resource was produced in 2007. Material in this resource has been designed for the middle cycle of Primary Schools in Northern Ireland and third and fourth classes in Republic of Ireland. Similarly to the Senior Cycle, the Teacher notes are colour coded with references to the photocopiable worksheets in the associated Pupils Worksheet.

Both the Teacher and Pupils worksheets are available to download and photocopy from the Middle Cycle page

The resources are available to download as Gaeilge by clicking on the Meanranganna section.

Junior Cycle

The Junior Cycle was produced in 2008 and aimed and first and second class pupils in the Republic of Ireland or Key Stage 1 in Northern Ireland.

Both the Senior and Middle Cycle resource packs compliment the GAA Fun Do Learning Resource pack which provides the Physical Education aspect of the resource. More information on the GAA Fun Do Learning Resource pack is available here.

Scoilnet

The largest education website in Ireland, Scoilnet, features a range of activities that can be used in conjunction with Ceim ar Aghaidh. Links to important GAA related websites as well as pupil friendly competitions and quizes can be downloaded. Access the GAA page on Scoilnet here.
